PLA is dimensionally stable up to approximately 60°C. Although it has high UV resistance, it can deform due to excessive temperatures.
In general, PLA possesses good mechanical properties such as high surface hardness, stiffness, and high tensile strength, but only moderate impact resistance. Therefore, 3D prints are not suitable as children's toys. Parts breaking off in a fall could be swallowed, and broken edges and sharp points can cause scratches or cuts.
